How to deal with rape?

Firstly, I like you froze and just 'let him' get on with it. This does not make it my fault or yours honey, my attacker had a weapon too and in that situation it's about getting out alive even if that means not fighting back. Secondly, the police treated you pretty bad by the sound of it, I was bullied by the lead detective on my case, and in the initial interview they kept asking me if I was lying and trying to lead me into saying things that weren't right. You have a right to complain to the Independent Police Complaints Commission if they continue to treat you unfairly because of your Schizophrenia and bully you like they have been. As for helping yourself get over it, I tried to deal with it alone and it lead to a complete breakdown. I think you should ask your GP to refer you for counselling, or if you're already getting Mental Health support because of your Schizophrenia you should discuss the attack with them and ask for some support.
