Is this wrong / am I crazy?

Personally, I don't think it's wrong. It's kinda cute :P But weddings are really stressful and require a lot of your attention, so an announcement might help you relax. As long as you don't want to end your marriage because of the announcement, I don't think it's wrong. Congratulations :D
