20 gallon tall hexagonal tank stocking?

I wanted to get only 1 fish (or at most a pair, preferably 1 though). I want the fish to be spoiled with the space, so no big species. No small cichlids either, in my opinion this tank would cramp them (even rams). Any ideas?
